Golfers Place Third

Bozeman, MT - Host Montana State rallied from an 8-shot deficit to edge Cal State Fullerton for second place in its Bobcat Invitational Women's Golf Tournament, which concluded Wednesday at the Riverside Country Club.

Memphis ran away with the team title, shooting an 11-over par 579 and taking the top five individual places. The Tigers' Marissa Steen shot 4-under-park 138 to win by 7 storkes.

The Bobcats scored 302 on Wednesday for a total of 613 while the Titans, who had a 303 on Tuesday, faded to a 314 for a two-day total of 617, 49 over par.

Taylor Fowler (74-79) and Neomi Hunt (74-79) tied for tenth overall at 153 to pace the Titans. Deidre Crabtree tied for 13th at 154 and Kathryn New tied for 17th at 157.

Fullerton competes next on Sept. 21-22 at the Cougar Invitational hosted by Washington State.
