Trabuco Canyon, Calif. - Kristen Aiu shot a 2-over 73 to pace a strong final round of 18 holes for Cal State Fullerton as the Titans moved up three places to finish in sixth place in the Anteater Invitational Women's Golf Tournament Tuesday at Dove Canyon Country Club.

All five Titan golfers shot between 73 and 77 on the par 71 course to move up from ninth place with a score of 927. Portland State won the event with a 38-over-par 890. Nevada was second at 896 followed by host UCI at 899. First-day leader Long Beach State faded to fourth (900).

Aiu tied for 16th place overall with a 54-hole total of 228. A stroke back was Taylor Fowler followed by Neomi Hunt at 236, Kaori Suda at 240 and Deidre Crabtree at 248 after a 15-stroke improvement from her second round on Monday. Fullerton's final round as a team was 15 strokes better than Monday's second round and 21 strokes better than Monday's first round.

Portland State's Lauren Taylor, who won the Folino Invitational last week, again was the individual winner with a 5-over-par score of 218, two strokes better than Joyce Chong of Nevada and Kayla Mortellaro of Idaho.

The Titans are idle until the Big West Conference Championships Apr. 16-19 in Rancho Santa Margarita.
