BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's golf finished the Valley Invitational Tuesday afternoon in fourth place with a team score of 53-over par 917.
Elina Saksa led the team individually with a fourth place finish after shooting 6-over par 222. Saksa shot a 71 and 74 on day one of the tournament before shooting a 77 in the third and final round.
Linley Ooi wrapped up the Valley Invitational in 17th place with a score of 13-over par 229. Ooi shot a 75 in round one followed by a 77 in rounds two and three. Kayla Sam placed tied for 30th, shooting 19-over par 235 with scores of 75, 83 and 77.
After shooting 20-over par 236, Lisa Djerf and Haruka Koda placed tied for 35th. Djerf 80 in the first round before improving with a 78 in rounds two and three. Koda shot a 78 in round one followed by a 81 and 77 in the second and third round. Kayle Hunn competed as an individual and placed tied for 61st with a score of 34-over par 250 (82-85-83).
San Francisco took first place as a team, shooting 31-over par 895. Elizabeth Sholtes of Cal Poly earned the individual title with a score of 1-over par 217.
The Titans are back in action next Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 14-15 for the Mountain Classic Match Play co-hosted by Boise State and Wyoming in Palm Desert, Calif.
