Women's Golf Places Fifth at Rainbow Wahine Invitational

KAPOLEI, HAWAI'I – Cal State Fullerton women's golf wrapped up its fall slate with a fifth place finish at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Wednesday afternoon with a score of 24-over par 888. 

Elina Saksa led the team individually, finishing the tournament at even par 216 to tie for sixth place. Saksa shot a 2-under par 70 in the first and second round followed by a 76 in the third and final round. 

Linley Ooi finished the tournament tied for 19th with a score of 6-over par 222. Ooi improved each round of the tournament as she began round one with a 77 followed by a 74 and a 71 in rounds two and three. 

Haruka Koda placed 22nd overall after shooting 9-over par 225. Koda also improved as the tournament went on. She started round one with an 80 before shooting a 74 in the second round and 71 in the third. 

Lisa Djerf shot a 13-over par 229 to place tied for 28th. Djerf a 76 in rounds one and two followed by a 77 in round three. Kayla Sam placed tied for 40th with a score of 18-over par 234. Sam shot a 79, 81 and 74 throughout the three rounds. 

The Titans come back from the winter break Jan. 31 in a matchplay against California Baptist. Fullerton first tournament of the spring schedule is Feb. 7-8 at the Valley Invitational.
