Fullerton Finishes Big West Championship in Sixth; Shin Named Golfer of the Year

YORBA LINDA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton finished the Big West Championship Wednesday afternoon in sixth place with a score of 41-over par 905.

Brittany Shin led the team individually with a score of 1-over par 217 to place her tied for fourth. Shin went into the final round tied for 17th but shot a 3-under par 69 to move up to fifth. After a successful 2021 campaign, Shin was named Big West Women's Player of the Year. The sophomore finished in the top 10 in five out of six tournaments played this season including two individual victories.

Haruka Koda finished the tournament tied for 25th after shooting 9-over par 225. Lisa Djerf finished one strike behind her with a 10-over par 226 to place tied for 27th. 

Kayle Hunn wrapped up the third round tied for 35th with a 21-over par 237. Sara Camarena shot a 36-over par to finish the tournament in 43rd. 

Cal Poly took first place at 5-over par 869 while Long Beach State's Holland Shourds won the individual title with a 2-under par 214.
