Anaconda, Mont. – Cal State Fullerton women's golf wrapped up its first tournament of the season Tuesday afternoon at the Battle at Old Works, finishing in fifth place with a 73-over par 937.
North Dakota State and Eastern Washington tied for first place with a score of 44-over par 908 but Eastern Washington took first after the final team playoff. Alexa Clark of Eastern Washington finished in first individually with a 3-over par 219.
Elsa Lundquist continued right where she left off last season, leading the team individually and finishing 12th with a score of 16-over par 232. Lundquist finished the tournament with her best round, shooting a 2-under par 70.
Pauline Welker placed 16th overall after shooting a 18-over par 234. Welker started off the tournament strong with a 76 before shooting a 80 in round two and a 78 in round three. Britney Sok finished tied for 21st with a score of 21-over par 237 (78, 81, 78).
Sophomore Courtney Sharkey shot a 22-over par 238 to place her tied for 23rd. Sharkey shot on 81 in the first round and followed up with a 78 and 79 in rounds two and three. Freshman Lisa Djerf finished tied for 25th in her first collegiate tournament of her career after shooting a 24-over par 240.
The Titans return to the greens Saturday Sept. 29 when they head to Palm Desert for the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate.
