FRESNO, Calif. – Through two rounds Monday at the Fresno State Classic, Cal State Fullerton women's golf sits in sixth place with a score of 21-over par 601. Play was suspended during the second round due to darkness, however, all Titan competitors completed the second round.
The Titans greatly improved in the second round of play, shooting a 6-over par so far to move up two spots from eighth place after round one. Sacramento State leads the tournament with a 3-under par 551.
One of the biggest reason for Fullerton moving up in round two was because of the individually play of Elsa Lundquist who is in tie for fifth place after shooting a 1-over par 145. Lundquist shot a 2-over par 74 and was tied for 12th place but moved up in round two after improving on her score with a 1-under par 71.
Freshman Courtney Sharkey is tied for 25th place with a 7-over par 151. Sharkey also significantly improved in the second round with a score even at par 72 to move up from 42nd place after shooting a 7-over par 79 in round one.
Lou Daniella Uy is tied for 28th place with a score of 8-over par 152. Uy shot a 4-over par 76 in both rounds. Pauline Welker sits tied for 31st at 9-over par 153 after shooting a 78 in round one and a 75 in round two while Brittany Farrell is tied for 44th with a 13-over par 157.
Fullerton looks to carry its strong finish on day one into the third and final round Tuesday with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. PT.
