RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Cal State Fullerton senior Martina Edberg won her second Big West Conference championship medalist honor, shooting 1-under-par 71 in the third and final round at Oak Quarry Golf Club on Tuesday.

Edberg (-6, 210) did just enough to hold off UC Riverside's Jakeishya Le, who matched Edberg's tournament low round of 68 (-4) in the third round to finish the championship one shot back (-5, 211).

The Big West championship is the second of Edberg's career as she also won the title as a freshman in 2014. In addition, Edberg secured her sixth medalist honor of 2016-17 as she has posted a top-3 finish in nine of 10 tournaments this season.

Edberg will learn her postseason fate on Thursday as the 2017 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships selections announcement will be at 8 a.m., on Golf Channel and streamed live on the Golf Channel website. Seventy-two teams and 24 individuals will be selected to compete at one of four regional championships, each featuring 18 teams and six individuals, May 8-10. Edberg competed as an individual in both 2015 and 2016.

The Titans entered the day at seventh in the standings, but fired their best round (+2, 290) of the championship to move into fifth place. The finish is the best for Cal State Fullerton since 2013.

Cal Poly held off a roaring UC Riverside team, who tied a tournament low score of 289, to claim its first-ever Big West Women's Golf Championship. The Mustangs carded 300 in the final round for a three-day total of 887 to capture both the team title and the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament.  This marks the second time this year the Mustangs captured a team title on this course, having won the Battle at the Rock back in February.

The Highlanders, who won their first team championship last year, finished one stroke back in second place. Hawai'i shot its best round of the tournament today at 292 to finish in third place with a 893 team total.  UC Davis finished fourth at 894 and Cal State Fullerton was fifth after firing 898.  Long Beach State (899) sits sixth and is followed by UC Irvine (905) and CSUN (916).

Junior Brittany Farrell fired a 1-under-par 71 in the third round to move up nine spots on the leaderboard finishing tied for 25th (+14, 230).

Junior Daniella Uy also shot her best round of the championship at 1-over-par 73 in the final round to move up five spots and tie for 29th with a three-round total of 16-over-par 232. Freshman Elsa Lundquist also tied for 29th after her best round of the tournament at 3-over-par 75.

Sophomore Pauline Welker shot 6-over-par 78 in the third and final round to finish the championship at 235 (+19) and tied for 34th place.

With the conference title, the Mustangs advance to the NCAA Division I Women's Regionals which are held at four sites this year from May 5-7. The four NCAA regionals will be held May 8-10 at the University of New Mexico Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M., Ironwood Golf and Country Club in Greenville, N.C., The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas, and Scarlet Course at Ohio State Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio.  The 2017 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship is scheduled for May 19-24 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
