Live Stats

THIS WEEK: Cal State Fullerton wraps up the 2015-16 season this weekend when the Titans head to the Big West Championships hosted by Hawai'i at the Kapalua Bay Course on the island of Maui.

THE COURSE: The Big West Championships will be held at the 6,012-yard par-72 Kapalua Bay Course. The tournament will begin Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. PT with the second and third rounds scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the same time.

SUMMING UP THIS YEAR'S FIELD: UC Davis enters the weekend as the defending Big West champions after collecting its sixth straight title last year. It is the second longest stretch of wins in the history of the championships. San Jose State won 10 straight from 1987-1996. But the Aggies enter the weekend as the No. 2 seed as Long Beach State heads to Hawai'i as the No. 1 seed. Kassidy Teare, who was named the Big West Golfer of the Month for April, leads the 49ers into the weekend. Teare leads the conference with a 72.1 scoring average. The 49ers have recorded two top-3 finishes this season. For the Titans, Martina Edberg will enter with the second-best scoring average in the field as the Fullerton junior holds a 72.4 scoring average in seven events this season.

EDBERG NAMED GOLFER OF THE MONTH: Edberg was named the Big West Conference Golfer of the Month for March after posting a pair of top-5 finishes. Edberg finished fourth at the rain-shortened Fresno State Classic, posting a 3-under 69 in the final round. It was the fifth time she posted a score in the 60s this season. At the John Kirk/Panther Intercolleigate, Edberg flirted with her fifth career win but would eventually finish second with a 3-under 213, just two strokes back of the medalist. It was Edberg's fourth top-5 finish of the season and her 14 birdies at the tournament tied for the most amongst the 84-player field.

RACKING UP THE MILEAGE: This weekend will mark the third straight tournament in which Fullerton has ventured more than 2,000 miles from home. The Titans will travel nearly 2,500 miles for this weekend's tournament after going nearly 2,200 miles for the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate and then 2,470 miles to play in the Bryan National Collegiate.

TITANS HISTORY AT THE BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS: This year marks the Titans seventh attempt at the conference title since the program was reinstated for the 2009-10 season. Fullerton has finished seventh four times, including last year. The Titans recorded their best finish in the 2011-12 season when they finished in third place with a 22-over 920 at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. Edberg is the only Titans player to win the individual conference title, doing so as a freshman in 2013-14. She finished with a 2-under 217 at the San Luis Obispo CC.
