Final ResultsLAKEWOOD, Wash. – Cal State Fullerton wrapped up the fall portion of its 2015-16 schedule with a sixth-place finish Tuesday at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational hosted by Seattle University at Tacoma Golf and Country Club in Lakewood, Wash.
The Titans recorded a 28-over 316 in the final round Tuesday to finish the tournament with a 62-over 926. The Titans were 11 strokes back of the host Redhawks for a top-five finish. Washington secured the victory easily, posting a 3-under 285 in round three to finish the 36 holes with a 1-over 865, 31 strokes ahead of runner-up Idaho.
After entering the final day with two golfers in the top-10, the Titans fell back to the pack on Tuesday. Sophomore Brittany Farrell recorded an 8-over 80 on Tuesday to fall 10 spots in the rankings and finish in a tie for 15th place. She finished the 36 holes with a 12-over 228. It was Farrell's first top-20 finish of the season and third overall in her Titans career.
Junior Martina Edberg recorded a 7-over 79 in round three, matching her opening round score. Edberg finished tied for 18th place, recording a 13-over 229. It was the first tournament this fall season in which Edberg did not lead the team in individual scoring and also the first in which she did not record at least one round in the 60s. Edberg's top-20 finish was her third straight of the season and 12th of her career.
Freshman Felicia Medalla recorded her best finish of the season in three tournaments, scoring a 16-over 232. Medalla finished in a tie for 28th place, the first top-30 finish of her career.
Freshman Ebba Nilsson rounded out the Titans scoring as she posted an 8-over 80 in round three, matching her second round score. Nilsson finished tied for 46th place.
Pauline Welker was the fifth Titans golfer participating at the Harbottle Invitational and she posted her best score on Tuesday, carding a 9-over 81.
The Titans will take the rest of the fall off and return to action on Feb. 22 to kick off the spring portion of their schedule at The Golf Rush, hosted by Long Beach State at the Old Ranch Golf Course in Seal Beach, Calif.
