Position: Head Coach (6th Season)

Harada was named the Cal State Fullerton head women’s basketball coach on April 17, 2017 by Athletics Director Jim Donovan. He is the Titans' 11th head coach in the program's 51-year history.  Harada will be embarking on his seventh season with the Titans in the fall of 2023.

The Titans fell victim to injuries during the 2022-23 season, forcing Harada to rely on his backcourt to average more than 35 minutes per game for most of the season. Harada led the Titans to the Big West Quarterfinal, where they fought through two overtime rounds before falling to Hawai’i, 82-75. The Titans went 14-16 overall and had three players named to All-Big West teams. Fujika Nimmo and Una Jovanovic were named to the All-Big West Second Team, while Demmonie Lagway received All-Freshman Team recognition. Harada finished his sixth season with the Titans one win away from earning his 100th win in a head coach position.

During the 2021-22 season, Harada took the Titans to their fourth consecutive Big West Tournament appearance and fourth in five years while at the helm at Cal State Fullerton. The Titans earned a first round win over Cal Poly, the team's third consecutive year with a tournament victory. Lily Wahinekapu was named Big West Freshman of the Year while Carolyn Gill was named Big West Hustle Player of the Year.

The 2020-21 season was challenging for the Titans in numerous ways, starting with the shortened season due to COVID-19. After losing the team's starting backcourt from the prior season, roles changed quickly and the team had to shut down due to COVID in the middle of the season. The Titans qualified for the Big West Tournament and upset UC Riverside in the opening round. The Titans went 4-18 overall and Gabi Vidmar was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team.

2019-20, season three, was a breakthrough for Harada and the Titan's women's basketball program.  The team finished 17-14, the best Fullerton finish and first winning seasonsince 1990-91.  Wins included Harada's first Big West Tournament victory, a road win at UNLV for the first time since 1996, a win over CSUN for the first time since 2011, and a win at league-leading UC Davis, which snapped their 28-game home conference winning streak.

Cal State Fullerton led the Big West (all games) in points per game (67.4), field goals percentage (42.6%), and defensive rebounds (37.8).  Titan juniors Raina Perez, Taylor Turney and Carolyn Gill received all-conference honors:  Perez was named Big West Player of the Year, and First Team All-Big West.  Additionally, Perez was named Big West Player of the Week three times.  Taylor Turney was named to the Second Team All-Big West, and was a Big West Player of the Week.  Carolyn Gill was named to the Big West All-Defensive Team, and was selected Best Hustle Player by the Big West.  Eleven members of the 2019-20 team were included in the Big West Commissioners Honor Roll.

In 2018-19, Harada followed up his successful first season with one of the best seasons the program had seen in the last decade making the Big West Tournament for the first time since 2014-15. Overall, they finished with a 14-16 record which is the best mark since the 2009-10 season. In conference, Fullerton finished in sixth place with a 6-10 record marking the most Big West wins for the program in five years.

The team finished their non-conference schedule with an 8-5 record, the best non-conference mark in almost 30 years. Part of that success was a five-game winning streak at the end of November and into December which is the longest winning streak since 2008. The Titans also came out with a season sweep of UC Santa Barbara in conference play for the first time since 1991.

Harada saw three of his athletes garner All-Conference awards which is the first time multiple Titans earned Big West honors since the 2014-15 season. Among them was a Sixth Player of the Year Award for freshman Amiee Book. Book also earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team while Daeja Smith took home a First Team selection and Raina Perez earned an Honorable Mention.

Head Coach Jeff Harada enjoyed a successful first year at Cal State Fullerton in 2017-18,  leading the Titans to an 8-21 record. While the team missed out on the Big West Tournament for the third straight season, the eight total wins was more than the previous two seasons combined.  He also led the Titans to a 3-13 conference record, again more wins than the previous two years combined.

In his first season as a Division I head coach, Harada's Titans shot 38% from the field which is the highest mark for the program since the 2010-11 season when they shot 42.4%. The 59.9 points per game is the highest mark since the 2013-14 season while the 12.3 assists is the best mark since the 2010-11 season.

He joins the Titan family after spending the last three seasons (2015-17) as head coach at Division II Central Washington University in Ellensburg. His accomplishments include a total of seven postseason appearances in 17 years of coaching including three trips to the NCAA Division I and II Women’s Basketball Tournaments (2013, 2012, 2010) one trip to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (2014), two appearances in the Men’s National Invitation Tournament (1999, 2000) and one trip to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament (1997).

In addition, Harada won five regular season or conference tournament championships and was named the 2010 Women’s Pacific West Conference Coach of the Year.

In three seasons (2015-17) at Central Washington, Harada compiled a 44-42 record, making three consecutive trips to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament.

In his first year at Central, Harada nearly doubled the Wildcats' overall win total and nearly tripled their conference win total from the previous season.  In his second year, the Wildcats saw the highest overall win total since 2006 (17) and highest conference win total since 2004 (10). Harada coached two GNAC Freshmen of the Year (2015, 2016) and seven all-GNAC selections in his three years at CWU.

Prior to making the move to Central Washington, Harada served as an assistant coach at Navy for three seasons (2012-14). Navy went to the postseason during each of Harada's seasons serving on the bench. The team went 24-8 in 2014, and earned a bid into the Women's National Invitational Tournament. That followed back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament. Navy won back-to-back regular season Patriot League championships in 2013 and 2014, and won back-to-back Patriot League Tournament titles in 2012 and 2013.

Previously, Harada was the head women's coach at Hawai'i Pacific University, where he took over a team that had won only two games during the season before his arrival. During his tenure at HPU (2008-11), Harada coached one all-region and eight all-conference (Pacific West) players in four years, including two freshman of the year and one newcomer of the year.

Under Harada’s leadership, the Sea Warriors won 58 games, including taking 36 of the 50 games played over his final two seasons there. In 2010, Harada's team won its first Pacific West Conference title, advancing to its first NCAA Division II Tournament. Harada was tabbed as the conference coach of the year that season.

Harada began his coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Colorado (1997-01), as a volunteer assistant. He later became the team's director of operations. In addition, he was an assistant coach for the HPU men's program (2004-06) before taking over the women's team for the 2007-08 season.
