FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's basketball outshined Cal Poly Saturday evening at Titan Gym, defeating the Mustangs 69-61. The Titans even their record to 10-10 and improve to 5-6 in Big West play.
Fujika Nimmo had magnetic three-point range, making 5-of-7 shots from beyond the arc. Before the half, she had scored 12 of her 20 points against the Mustangs. She kicked off the scoring for the Titans after being down 0-4 at the beginning of the game.

Nimmo retook the lead for the Titans multiple times with her impressive three-point accuracy in Saturday's game. The Titans led at the break and secured their win at the end of regulation after a tough fight from Cal Poly.
Ashlee Lewis and Aixchel Hernandez were key factors in this impressive team win. Lewis scored 14 points and had three assists, one of which was a fan-favorite quick pass to Hernandez for the completion. Hernandez recorded eight of the 25 defensive rebounds for the team.

Demonnie Lagway entered off the bench for the Titans and impressed the crowd with a 3-point shot from the corner. She put up 10 points for the Titans offense on 2-of-5 shooting and 5-of-6 shooting from the line.

Una Jovanovic was not as successful with field goal attempts, but she scored the second most points with 17. She was 4-for-8 from the field and scored most of her points from the free throw line on 9-of-10 shooting.
Fullerton's defense was just as impressive as their offensive teamwork, stopping the Mustangs from making a comeback.
Women's basketball looks to earn their fourth consecutive win as they travel across town to take on their rivals, Long Beach State. The game is set for Thursday, February 2, at 7 p.m. PT.
