FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's basketball came back from a nine-point deficit to defeat CSUN Saturday night at Titan Gym by a final score of 70-67. With the win the Titans improve to 8-10 and 3-6 in Big West play, leaving them tied for seventh.

With the game tied at 65-65 and just over a minute left in the fourth quarter, Fujika Nimmo grabbed a defensive rebound and pushed the ball up the court which led to an easy lay-in for Demonnie Lagway to give the Titans a two-point lead.

Following a steal on the defensive by Gabi Vidmar, Nimmo hit a pull-up jumper from the elbow to give the Titans a four-point lead (69-65) and put the game on ice with 10 seconds remaining.

Nimmo led all scorers with 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting and an impressive 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. In 18 games this season Nimmo has scored 20+ points in six of them. The senior ranks second in the Big West in points per game with 15.3.

As a team the Titans shot an impressive 50.9 percent from the field. Well above their average field goal percentage for the season of 39.5.

Due to injuries, Nimmo, Vidmar and Una Jovanovic were all forced to play the entire game. The three Titans combined to score 46 of the teams 70 points.

The two Titan forwards in Aixchel Hernandez and Ashlee Lewis had strong performances as they scored nine and eight points, respectively. Hernandez got her first career start and played all but two minutes of the game.

Fullerton looks to carry its momentum on the road as it heads to the Bren Events Center to take on UC Irvine Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
