Jovanovic Scores Career-High in Titans Win Over George Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Cal State Fullerton women's basketball defeated George Washington, 70-64, Sunday morning at the Charles E. Smith Center. With the win the Titans improve to 2-2 on the year. 

Fullerton controlled the game from start to finish, jumping out to an early 10-point lead in the first quarter. The Titans went 5-for-5 from three-point distance in the first quarter to build a 23-13 lead. The team shot 9-for-15 from behind the arc in the game. 

The team went into the locker room with a 37-30 lead before the defense shut down George Washington in the third quarter, not allowing a single field goal. The Titans outscored the Colonials 19-8 in the third to extend their lead to 56-38. 

Una Jovanovic one-upped her career performance from Friday night with a career-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 2-of-3 from distance. Jovanovic scored a career-high at the time, 16 points Friday against Georgetown. The sophomore added five rebounds and six assists in the Titans win Sunday against George Washington. 

Fujika Nimmo and Gabi Vidmar added double-digit performances with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Vidmar was a menace defensively for the Titans, recording six steals and six rebounds. Vidmar is averaging 4.5 steals and 7.5 rebounds per game on the season.

After four road games to start the year, Fullerton returns to Titan Gym for its home-opener Monday, Nov. 28 against Pepperdine at 7:00 p.m.
