Women's Basketball Defeats San Jose State on the Road

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's basketball defeated San Jose State 71-63 Sunday afternoon to earn its first victory of the season and improve to 1-1 on the year. 

The Titans fell behind by as many as 10 points in the first half but quickly got their offense going to cut the deficit to just four points, 34-30, at halftime. Gabi Vidmar led the Titans in the first half with eight points. 

Fullerton outscored the Spartans 41-29 in the second half led by Fujika Nimmo who had 13 second half points and a game-high 19 points. Nimmo took over late in the game to lead the Titans to victory. 

Along with Nimmo, four Titans scored in double figures in Vidmar (16), Ashlee Lewis (15) and Una Jovanic (10). Demonnie Lagway added nine points off the bench. 

The Titans are back on the road next week as the team heads to the East Coast to face Georgetown Friday and George Washington Sunday.
