SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's basketball dropped its road contest to Cal Poly Thursday night by a final score of 61-52. The Titans fall to 8-10 and 3-5 in conference play.
Fullerton trailed 29-30 at halftime and kept battling in the second half after falling behind by as many as 10 points. Lily Wahinekapu finished a layup through contact at the end of the third quarter to bring the Titans within six heading into the fourth.

Wahinekapu led the Titans offensively with 19 points on 5-of-15 shooting from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. The freshman added two assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Carolyn Gill had a strong game for the Titans, bringing the team energy on the offensive and defensive end. Gill finished the game with 14 points on an efficient 5-of-9 shooting and 4-of-6 from the line. Gill nearly recorded a double-double with eight rebounds.

Maddie Willett and Maddie Vick led Cal Poly offensively, scoring 15 and 12 points, respectively. The Mustangs got 16 points off the bench compared to the Titans just two.
The Titans look to bounce back Saturday afternoon as they face CSU Bakersfield on the road at 1:00 p.m. PT.
