FULLERTON, Calif. – Lily Wahinekapu has been named Big West women's basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Wahinekapu scored a career-high 27 points in the Titans win over UC Davis Thursday night at Titan Gym. She shot 7-of-13 from the field and an impressive 10-of-12 from the free-throw line while adding two rebounds and four assists.
The freshman followed up her career performance with a 17-point outing in Fullerton's win over UC Riverside Saturday night. Wahinekapu added three rebounds and four assists in the win over the Highlanders
Wahinekapu leads the team on the year with 14.5 points per game, which ranks fourth in the Big West Conference.
Fullerton looks to carry its momentum on the road after winning back-to-back games at Titan Gym. The Titans head to Cal Poly next Thursday to face the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to CSU Bakersfield on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
