FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's basketball defeated UC Davis, 69-65, Thursday night at Titan Gym. The Titans improve to 7-9 on the season and 2-4 in Big West play.

Lily Wahinekapu dominated from start to finish, scoring a career-high 27 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the floor and an impressive 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. The freshman has scored 20+ points in back-to-back games and has scored 20+ four times this season. Wahinekapu added four assists, two rebounds along with three steals on the defensive end.

Carolyn Gill made an immediate impact in the starting lineup with her energy after missing a majority of the previous two games. She finished the game with six points, 11 rebounds (five offensive), and two steals.

After going into the locker room at halftime down 35-36, the Titans came out in the second half and scored four straight points, all by Ashlee Lewis, to take a three-point lead.

The Titans and Aggies battled back-and-forth for the entirety of the game. Fullerton, however, seemed to take control of the momentum with the game tied at 45 when Fujika Nimmo scored on a fastbreak to put the Titans up one. Nimmo scored 13 points on the night, shooting 6-of-12 from the floor while adding two assists, two rebounds and two steals.

After Nimmo's missed free-throw on the and-one attempt, Gill grabbed an offensive board to give Fullerton another possession which led to an Una Jovanovic layup. One possession later, Gabi Vidmar drilled a three-pointer to put the Titans up 52-45, the teams' biggest lead of the game.

The Titans are back in action Saturday night as they host UC Riverside in Titan Gym at 6:00 p.m. in a Big West Conference showdown.
