Women's Basketball Picked to Finish 10th in the Big West Preseason Coaches' Poll

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's basketball was picked to finish 10th in the Big West Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced Tuesday.

"Based on last season I can see why we are ranked where we're at in the preseason and rightfully so," said Head Coach Jeff Harada. "Last season was challenging for everyone in so many ways, but with eight new players we are a very different team. The Big West will be tough as always and to be honest, the only standings that matter to us are at the end of the season. I know our staff and young women are very excited and motivated to compete every night and show what kind of team we are."

The Titans return seven players from the 2020-21 season where they advanced to the second round of the Big West Tournament. Fullerton defeated UC Riverside in the first round 55-51 before losing a tightly contested game to No. 1 seed UC Davis.

Anniken Frey and Carolyn Gill are the Titans top returns on the offensive end. Frey was second on the team last year, averaging 9.1 points per game while Gill scored 7.9 points along with 6.2 rebounds a game. Along with a solid group of returns the Titans have eight new additions to the team.
