FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's basketball led 66-65 with just under two seconds left in overtime thanks to a banked-in three by sophomore guard Anniken Frey. But, UC San Diego responded with a banked-in three of its own as time expired to win the game by a score of 68-66. Frey led the Titans in scoring with a career-high 18 points. The squad will play on Tuesday in the Big West Tournament.

Fullerton (3-17, 2-14 Big West) led for 24 minutes on Saturday but it was a close game throughout as the game was tied seven times and there were 11 lead changes. Fullerton's largest lead was eight at the 9:51 mark of the third quarter. But UCSD (6-9 overall, 6-9 Big West) led by four with 2:19 left and the Titans battled back to tie the game with four seconds left. Freshman guard Gabi Vidmar made a layup with 37 seconds left, then Vidmar forced a steal and passed it to junior guard Pressila Blanco on the fast break. Blanco went up for the layup and drew the foul. Blanco, a walk-on, has played in just four games and a total of seven minutes on the year. In her first two free-throw attempts of the season, she calmly sank the first to tie the game but missed the second to take the lead. The Titans got a stop to send the game to overtime.

Frey buried the three after a stagnant possession but the Tritons executed the sideline out-of-bounds play to perfection and buried the game-winning three.

For the game, Frey had four rebounds and two assists to go with her 18 points. Senior forward Krupa posted 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks but also had nine turnovers. As a team, the Titans had 21 turnovers which led to 24 points for the Tritons. Freshman guard Bella Stratford pitched in 11 points off the bench to go with three rebounds and three assists.
