WBB Picks Up 60-57 Win Over UCSD

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's basketball picked up a 60-57 win over the UC San Diego Tritons on Friday night. Senior Joy Krupa led the Titans in scoring with 14 points and hauled in eight rebounds. Game two of the series is set for 5 p.m. PT at Saturday.

Fullerton (3-16, 2-13 Big West) led for 36 minutes on Friday and led by as many as 18 at the end of the third quarter over UC San Diego (5-9, 5-9 Big West). The Titans led by 14 to start the final frame but the Tritons came storming back and had a chance to tie the game in the final possession but the last-second heave missed and Fullerton won.

The Titans played just seven players and all seven scored at least five points while Krupa (14 points) and Frey (11 points) were the two in double figures. Krupa had a line of 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. Frey had 11 points, two rebounds, four assists and just one turnover in 34 minutes. 

As a team, Fullerton shot 46.0% (23-50) from the field, 23.5% (4-17) from distance and 66.7% (10-15) at the line.
