FULLERTON, Calif. - CSU Bakersfield defeated the Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team on Friday by a score of 67-54. Sophomore guard Anniken Frey led the team in scoring with 16 points. Game two of the series against the Roadrunners will be on Saturday at 5 p.m. PT.

CSUB (5-6 overall, 3-4 Big West) led the whole way on Friday night as Andie Easley scored a game-high 19 points while Jayden Eggleston (14) and Vanessa Austin scored in double figures as well. The Roadrunners jumped on the Titans early, leading 23-10 after the first quarter. Fullerton settled in after that and even won both the third and fourth quarters but the initial deficit was too much to make up, especially with 22 turnovers.

As a team, CSUB shot 24-49 (49.0%) from the field, 7-12 (58.3%) from distance and 12-16 (75.0%) at the line. The Roadrunners scored 17 fast break points to just two for the Titans. But, Fullerton won the rebounding battle 40-26.

Frey tied career-highs in threes made (four) and points (16). She also had three rebounds and four assists. Senior forward Carolyn Gill scored a season-high 11 points to go with nine rebounds, three assists and one steal off the bench.
