WBB Loses at LBSU

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team lost 69-50 at Long Beach State on Friday afternoon at the Walter Pyramid. Sophomore Anniken Frey led the team in scoring with 13 points. Game two between these teams is set for Saturday at 4 p.m. PT on ESPN3 at the Walter Pyramid.

LBSU (6-1, 5-0 BWC) led for 39:41 of the game and never trailed with the largest lead reaching 26 at the 2:09 mark of the third. Turnovers plagued the Titans (0-6, 0-5 BWC) again as they had 22 which led to 26 points for Long Beach. LBSU shot 42.4% (28-66) from the field, 40.9% (9-22) from distance and just 50% (4-8) at the free-throw line. Ma'Qhi Berry scored a game-high 19 points while Justin King (13 points) and Kristyna Jeskeova (10 points) were in double-figures for LBSU as well.

Frey led the Titans with 13 points and also tallied two rebounds and four assists. Junior forward Amiee Book scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds. Senior forward Joy Krupa hauled in 11 rebounds with four points, two assists, two steals and one block. Senior forward Carolyn Gill snatched a game-high 12 rebounds and added seven points, one assist and two steals. 

Fullerton went 18-54 (33.3%) from the floor, 4-15 (26.7%) from the three-point line and 10-18 (55.6%) at the charity stripe.
