FULLERTON, Calif. –  The Titans (16-13, 8-8 BWC) fell to UC Irvine (13-17, 9-7 BWC) on Saturday night 52-68.  With the win, the Anteaters completed the regular season sweep of Fullerton.  Final seeding in the Big West Tournament will now be decided tonight by other games in other places.

Raina Perez, Taylor Turney and Amiee Book all scored in double-figures, but the rest of the Titan team could only deliver five points tonight, despite some fierce team play on both ends of the floor.

Perez scored 16 points to go with six rebounds and five assists.  Book also had 16 points, and pulled down a game-high 11 boards.  Taylor Turney was right behind with 15 points, six assists and five rebounds.

The Titans shot a near-season low 30.1% from the floor, and were 5-29 (17.2%) from behind the arc.  Irvine shot only 36.5% from the floor, but knocked down a whopping 12-23 (52.2%) from 3-point land.  Fullerton outrebounded the 'Eaters 47-45 in the loss.

Prior to the game, Raina Perez was honored for scoring over 1,000 Division-I points in her career thus far. Perez transferred to Fullerton after her freshman season at Northern Arizona University.  She now has scored 966 points at Fullerton alone.

Team captain Triann Thompson was also honored.  Injuries prevented her from competing most of last season, and all of this season.  She has still been a valuable contributor to the team, and an inspirational leader.  Thompson will graduate in the fall with a B.A. in Political Science.

BIG WEST TOURNAMENT UPDATE:  The final seedings are now set.  #6 Cal State Fullerton will face #7 CSUN in the first round of the Big West Tournament at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach on Tuesday, March 10, at 8:30 PM PT.  All Tournament games will be broadcast on ESPN3.
