HOPEWELL, N.J. – Redshirt-junior combo guard Raina Perez was honored as one of 15 student-athletes named to the first-annual Mid-Major Player of the Year Award watch list by Her Hoop Stats.
Perez is a three-time Big West women's basketball player of the week, and leads the conference in scoring with a 22.5 points per game average, which ranks seventh in the nation.
Additionally, she is in the top-10 in seven other Big West statistical categories, including field goal percentage (.531), assists (4.2) and free throw percentage (.868). Her free throw percentage ranks 24th in the nation.
Perez became just the second Cal State Fullerton women's basketball student-athlete in school history to earn three Player of the Week awards in one season. Former All-American, WNBA player, and Titan Hall of Famer Genia Miller took home six awards in the 1990-91 season.
