FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans improved to 8-5 after defeating Seattle University 81-63 on Sunday afternoon in Titan Gym.  The win was the fourth consecutive victory for the surging Jeff Harada-led Fullerton squad.

Four Titans finished the day with double-figure scoring, led by Taylor Turney with 19 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals.  Madison Freemon has really come on strong these past two games with 16 points and nine rebounds.  Carolyn Gill also logged 16 points in the win.  Fullerton shot a red-hot 55.0% (33-60) from the floor, and 12-15 (80%) from the charity stripe.

Three-time Big West player of the week Raina Perez was held under her league-leading scoring average, but still managed a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.  Perez also contributed five boards and three steals.

Every Titan in uniform saw the floor this afternoon.  Fullerton outrebounded the visiting Redhawks 41-32.

Said head coach Jeff Harada:  "I'm really happy to end the non-conference season with a win against a tough Seattle team.  We didn't shoot it great from 3 (point range), but I liked how we attacked their zone for some layups and high percentage shots.

"When we were able to rebound, I thought our transition offense was fun to watch as well.  Defensively we had some solid moments, and I thought we did a good job on their top scorers, making them take a lot of shots.

"Overall, a big team win for us, and I liked how we shared the ball with 23 assists and showed a lot of balance today."

Cal State Fullerton will have some time off before heading north to Goleta to open conference play at UC Santa Barbara (4-8) on Thursday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m.
