Titans Will Host Air Force on Saturday

FULLERTON, Calif. – 
The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team (6-5, 0-0 BWC) will return to Titan Gym on Saturday, December 21 to face Air Force (2-9, 1-1) in a 2:00 p.m. non-conference matinee.  Air Force fell at Long Beach State last night 74-68.  

Head coach Jeff Harada's Titans are coming off of a 97-93 shootout victory over Cal Baptist on December 13.  Fullerton shot an impressive 50.7% from the floor, and outrebounded the Lancers 53-30.  Taylor Turney was honored as the Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her 31 point, 14 rebound, six assist performance in the game.

The Falcons are helmed by head coach Chris Gobrecht.  Gobrecht's first DI head coaching position was with the Titans from 1979-85 where she compiled an 84-92 record.  Under her leadership Fullerton made a WNIT appearance in 1985.  The Titans were members of the WCAA conference at that time, which consisted of USC, UCLA, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, San Diego State, Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton.

Cal State Fullerton will be led by redshirt-junior guard Raina Perez, who leads the Big West Conference, and is number six in the nation in points per game with a 22.4 average.  Additionally, she is fourth in the league with 4.0 assists, and number two in the Big West with an .865 free throw percentage.  

Forward Joy Krupa is the number two rebounder in the conference with a 10.7 average, is number ten in assists with a 3.1 average, and is number two with a 1.56 blocked shots per game average.  Taylor Turney is averaging 12.5 points, and her 4.6 assists per game ranks third in the conference.

The Titans and Falcons have shared one common opponent this season in the University of San Diego.  Air Force fell to the Toreros 59-70, while CSUF defeated USD 72-67.  The Titans are 1-3 all-time versus Air Force.  Their last meeting was in 2002.

PARKING

CSUF requires a parking permit for all weekday games. Beginning July 1st, parking on campus will be $10 for an All-Day permit Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Friday until 5pm.  After 5pm on Friday, Permits are not required, as well as on the weekend.  Park and Pay stalls Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm (Friday until 5pm) are $4 for 1-hour, $8 for 2-hours. Permits can be purchased in parking lots at the permit machines and accept only major credit cards.
