BLACK FRIDAY TICKET INFORMATION
FULLERTON, Calif. – This week will feature the debut of the Titan Classic women's basketball tournament. The two-day event will be comprised of teams from Santa Clara University, University of Delaware, University of Montana, and host Cal State Fullerton. All games will be played in Titan Gym on Friday and Saturday.
The Titans (4-2, 0-0 BWC) will play the evening game on both nights. Fullerton will open on Friday with the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens (0-4) at 6:00 p.m., and will cap off the tournament on Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m. with the Montana Lady Griz (2-2).
Cal State Fullerton head coach Jeff Harada had this to say about the Titan Classic: "We've been on the road my first two years during this time, so I'm definitely happy we get to spend Thanksgiving at home this season. I'm very grateful to the administration for allowing us to host the first tournament we've had in a long time and also to the staff members who will be giving up part of their weekend to support our event."
"I think it's a great field with evenly matched teams from different conferences, and I expect all four games to be extremely competitive. I'm especially excited to see how we'll compete in our matchups with Delaware and Montana as both teams are talented, well coached, and will pose different challenges for us. It's a great opportunity to play in front of our fans and see where we stand at this point in the season."
Fullerton is coming off of back-to-back wins against Utah State and Grand Canyon University. The Titans are led by two-time Big West women's basketball player of the week, Raina Perez. Perez currently leads the Big West in scoring with a 22.8 Points per Game average, which ranks #9 nationally. She is also #1 in the nation in Field Goals Made (56), and #6 in the nation in Final Points (137).
Amiee Book leads the Big West Conference in 3-point Field Goal Percentage (.438) and 3-point Field Goals Made (14). Joy Krupa is currently #2 in the conference with an average of 9.67 Rebounds per Game, and Taylor Turney is #2 averaging 5.17 Assists per Game.
This is not the first tournament in Titans women's basketball history. Previously, Cal State Fullerton hosted the Titan Converse Classic in 1988, and the Titan Gatorade Classic in 1990 and 1991.
