FULLERTON, Calif. – Despite five players putting up double-figures for the Titans, they came up short in their home opener falling 83-72 to San Diego State. Fullerton shot 44.3% from the field, but their defense could not stop the Aztecs who shot over 50% from the field.
CSF only had five players score, but all five reached double-figures led by Daeja Smith's 19 points. She fell two rebounds shy of a double-double snapping her six-game streak. Jade Vega had her best shooting game of the season with 18 points to go along with five assists. Raina Perez put up 13 points and four assists while Amiee Book had 12 points. Carolyn Gill put up her second consecutive double-double with 10 points and matching her career-high 12 rebounds.
San Diego State had four players reach double-figures led by Tea Adams with 21 points. Sophia Ramos had 19, Naje Murray had 17, and Mallory Adams put up 16 to round out the main scorers for the Aztecs.

The Titans scored the first bucket of the game, but the Aztecs responded with a 13-0 run and never looked relinquished the lead again.

Fullerton made a run in the third quarter and had the deficit down to two thanks to their 61.1% shooting, but that's the closest they would get. The Titans could not come up with any stops when they needed them as the Aztecs shot over 45% in every quarter of the contest.
Fullerton is back in action on Monday against Santa Clara. The game will be at 7:00 p.m. in Titan Gym.

Cal State Fullerton is set to host its first ever Double Header at the 2018 Homecoming Event on Saturday, December 1st. Women's Basketball takes on CSU Bakersfield at 2:30pm followed by Men's Basketball taking on Cal Lutheran at 6:00pm. In between the two games fans can take part in the Homecoming pre-game festival. Homecoming package includes general admission to the festival and both Women's and Men's Basketball games, a custom student designed T-shirt, meal voucher for In-N-Out Burger, and non-alcoholic beverages.
