SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton was unable to execute down the stretch as they fell to Cal Poly 63-56 Saturday afternoon.

The Titans (8-19, 3-11) battled the No. 3 team in the Big West tough and down to the very end. Fullerton held a 56-55 lead with 2:38 remaining in the game but went cold in the final minutes as they weren't able to get another bucket in the game.

Fullerton's big three of Daeja Smith, Hannah Thompson and Jade Vega all had solid outings against the Mustangs, scoring 13 points each.

Along with her 13 points, Smith added a team-high 12 rebounds to record her 11th double-double of the season which ranks second in the Big West for most on the season.

H. Thompson continued to climb Fullerton's record books as she now has made 70 three-pointers on the year to make her fifth all-time for most threes made in a single season in program history. Thompson needs eight more three-pointers to move into 4th all-time.

Vega had an impressive stat line across the board as she dished out four assists and grabbed three rebounds to go along with her 13 points while going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Freshman Triann Thompson added a punch of the bench as she scored eight points on 4-of-7 shooting.

Lynn Leaupepe led Cal Poly offensively with 18 points while adding a game-high 14 rebounds. Her sister Dynn Leaupepe added 10 points and five rebounds for the Mustangs.

With the Loss the Titans are now 3-11 in the Big West standings and are in last place after Long Beach State came out with a win over Hawai'i Saturday afternoon.

Fullerton looks to finish the season strong and get back in contention for the Big West tournament next Thursday as they take on UC Davis at 7 p.m. at Titan Gym.
