THIS WEEK
Cal State Fullerton (3-12, 0-2 Big West) will travel to Hawai'i (4-10, 0-2 Big West) on Thursday as one of the teams will leave the Stan Sheriff Center with their first conference win. The Titans will then return home to play  the third team in the league that is without a conference win, UC Irvine (2-14, 0-2 Big West) at 6 p.m., Saturday.

WEEKLY UPDATE
Cal State Fullerton opened Big West Conference play with a pair of losses last week. The Titans have lost five straight league Big West Conference games dating back to last season, and have lost eight of their last nine overall in 2016-17. In addition, Fullerton has lost seven-straight road games dating back to last year.

IN THE BIG WEST AND MORE
• Junior guard Iman Lathan enters the week averaging 16.6 points per game, ranking second in the Big West Conference. The junior guard has led the Titans in scoring on 10 occasions this season. 
• Sophomore center Daeja Smith's .558 field goal percentage tops the Big West Conference and her 7.4 rebounds per game rank fourth. In addition, Smith's 1.2 blocks per game rank fourth in the Big West.
• Senior center Dhanyel Johnson entered the week averaging 7.2 rebounds per game to rank fifth in the Big West.
Jordan Jackson's average of 1.8 made three-pointers per game ranks sixth in the Big West and Jade Vega's .404 three-point field goal shooting percentage rates fifth. 
• Cal State Fullerton has two players with offensive rebounding averages ranking in the top 10 of the Big West Conference: Dhanyel Johnson (3.4, 2nd) and Daeja Smith (3.1, 3rd).

KEYS TO VICTORY
• Cal State Fullerton is holding opponents to 57.0 points per game in Big West Conference action, but the Titans are averaging just 45.0 ppg.
• Cal State Fullerton is 3-2 when opponents score 59 points or less and 0-10 when opponents score 60 points or more.
• Fullerton is 3-1 when leading at the half and 0-11 when trailing at the break. 
• Fullerton is 2-0 when five or more players score in double figures.

HAWAI'I NOTES
• Hawai'i boasts one of the top defenses in the Big West, leading the conference in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.8 percent), ranking second in the league in field goal percentage defense (38.2 percent), and fourth in scoring defense (64.6 points per game).
• The Hawai'i offense, on the other hand, has been slow. The Rainbow Wahine average 55.9 points per game while shooting 34.7 percent from the field, both league-lows.
• The Titans have lost five-straight games in Honolulu with the last victory a 75-69 win on Jan. 13, 1995.

UC IRVINE NOTES
• Sophomore Andee Ritter is tops in the Big West with 44 threes (2.8/game). She has connected from long distance in 15 of 16 outings and has hit multiple treys in 10 contests. 
• Shereen Sutherland leads the 'Eaters with 11.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per outing.
• Cal State Fullerton's last road win as well as last conference win was a 66-53 victory over UC Irvine on Feb. 20, 2016.

ROSTER UPDATE
Keimeshia Walker has left the women's basketball program and Cal State Fullerton to pursue other opportunities.

THE RETURNERS
Fullerton returns to the floor with just one starter from last year, 5-foot-5 sophomore guard, Jade Vega. In total, the Titans return only three letterwinners with sophomore guard Lauren Nubla and senior center Dhanyel Johnson back on the floor. 

2017 RECRUITING CLASS
The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team welcomed four commits to the program as high school seniors Laura Dalton, Xinavane Foreman, Carolyn Gill and Mason VanHouten each signed National Letters of Intent to begin their respective collegiate careers at Fullerton for the 2017-18 season, it was announced by fourth-year head coach Daron Park on Nov. 16.

AWARD SEASON
Junior guard Iman Lathan averaged 23.7 points over three games to earn Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Dec. 6.The native of Temecula, Calif., led the Titans in scoring in all three games as they went 2-1 overall. For the week, Lathan averaged 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in addition to leading the Titans in scoring.  She also got to the free throw line extensively, making 17 of her 27 attempts.

LAST TIME OUT
Once again a third-quarter lapse buried Cal State Fullerton in a 56-49 loss to UC Santa Barbara at Titan Gym on Saturday night. Junior guard Iman Lathan led the Titans with 15 points, shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the free-throw line. She added seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Daeja Smith fell one rebound short of a double-double with 11 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, while Jordan Jackson poured in 12 points, knocking down three 3-pointers.UCSB was led by Sarah Porter's 15 points and three steals, while Drew Edelman produced a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds to go along with two blocked shots.Fullerton was outscored 17-7 in the third quarter with Smith missing the majority of the period in foul trouble.
