Big West Conference play begins this week as Cal State Fullerton (3-10) opens league action at 7 p.m., Thursday at CSUN. The Titans will return to Titan Gym at 5 p.m., Saturday, hosting UC Santa Barbara as part of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team.

Cal State Fullerton concluded its four-game homestand last week with a 61-46 loss to Columbia on Thursday, before snapping its six-game losing streak with a 64-56 victory over Antelope Valley at Titan Gym on Saturday.

Fullerton's 46 points scored were a season-low for games played at Titan Gym…Iman Lathan recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and a career-high as well as team-leading 12 rebounds…Daeja Smith blocked a career best and Titan season high four shots.

BIG WEST OPENERS
Cal State Fullerton is 14-17 in Big West Conference openers. The Titans have won three of their last four league openers. Fullerton is 6-10 in Big West openers played on the road and 1-1 against the Matadors. Fullerton suffered an 80-74 loss in the 2004-05 Big West opener at Titan Gym, but defeated CSUN, 66-65, in Northridge, to open the 2003-04 conference campaign.
IN THE BIG WEST AND MORE
• Junior guard Iman Lathan enters the week leading the Big West Conference in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game. The junior guard has led the Titans in scoring on nine occasions this season.
• Senior center Dhanyel Johnson is averaging 7.7 rebounds per game to rank third in the Big West.
• Sophomore center Daeja Smith's .568 field goal percentage tops the Big West Conference and her 7.3 rebounds per game rank sixth. In addition, Smith's 1.2 blocks per game rank fifth in the Big West.
• Jordan Jackson's average of 1.8 made three-pointers per game ranks sixth in the Big West and Jade Vega's .400 three-point field goal shooting percentage rates third.
• Cal State Fullerton has two players with offensive rebounding averages ranking in the top 10 of the Big West Conference: Dhanyel Johnson (3.4, 2nd) and Daeja Smith (3.3, 3rd)

• UC Santa Barbara (5-8) enters the week having won three of its last four.
• The Gauchos played four like opponents of Cal State Fullerton this season with a win over Pepperdine and losses to San Diego, San Diego State and Loyola Marymount.
• The Gauchos average 59.9 points per game, ranking seventh in the Big West Conference.
• Fullerton last defeated UCSB, 54-50, on Jan. 24, 2015. In that game, then-freshman Daeja Smith scored one point with two rebounds, two assists and one block.
THE RETURNERS
Fullerton returns to the floor with just one starter from last year, 5-foot-5 sophomore guard, Jade Vega. In total, the Titans return only three letterwinners with sophomore guard Lauren Nubla and senior center Dhanyel Johnson back on the floor.
2017 RECRUITING CLASS
The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team welcomed four commits to the program as high school seniors Laura Dalton, Xinavane Foreman, Carolyn Gill and Mason VanHouten each signed National Letters of Intent to begin their respective collegiate careers at Fullerton for the 2017-18 season, it was announced by fourth-year head coach Daron Park on Nov. 16.
AWARD SEASON
Junior guard Iman Lathan averaged 23.7 points over three games to earn Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Dec. 6.The native of Temecula, Calif., led the Titans in scoring in all three games as they went 2-1 overall. For the week, Lathan averaged 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in addition to leading the Titans in scoring. She also got to the free throw line extensively, making 17 of her 27 attempts.
LAST TIME OUT
Cal State Fullerton snapped its six-game losing streak with a 64-56 victory over Antelope Valley on Saturday afternoon at Titan Gym.The Titans were led by sophomore center Daeja Smith, who scored a career-high 18 points and added seven rebounds, while junior guard China Henderson scored a career-high 13 points off the bench, also getting to seven boards.
