IRVINE – Cal State Fullerton junior guard Iman Lathan averaged 23.7 points over three games to nab Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, it was announced by the league  office on Monday.

This is Lathan's first Big West Player of the Week honor and the first of the season for the Titans.

The native of Temecaula, Calif., led the Titans in scoring in all three games as they went 2-1 overall.

She recorded 26 points on 9-of 12-shooting in Monday's 97-49 victory over Whittier.  She also had seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 21 minutes of action. The Titans' 48-point victory was its largest since a 49-point 95-46 win against San Jose State on Jan. 7, 1990, and Fullerton had last scored 97 points in a 100-74 win against Sacramento State on Dec. 9, 2010.

Lathan registered 22 points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal as the Titans toppled Montana for the first time in program history, 72-56, on Wednesday.  Her game-high 22 points came on 10-of-17 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three-point range.

Despite 23 points from Lathan in Sunday's contest against Loyola Marymount, CSF fell 77-62.  She chipped in with seven rebounds and a steal.

For the week, Lathan averaged 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in addition to leading the Titans in scoring.  She also got to the free throw line extensively, making 17 of her 27 attempts.

The 5-9 guard has reached the 20-point benchmark in five of seven games this season.

Her 17.7 points per game on the season currently leads the Big West Conference.
