Logan Leads Titans to 66-53 Win at UC Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. – Junior Sami Logan recorded her first double-double of the season as the Titans snapped their 24-losing streak with a 66-53 victory at UC Irvine on Saturday afternoon.

The Titans (3-24, 1-12 BWC) outshot the Anteaters from the field (41.4%) and three-pointers (40%) also while outrebounding UCI, collecting 48 rebounds on the day.

"Obviously I am so happy for our kids, our staff, and our support staff," said head coach Daron Park. "Our players have been incredibly resilient and upbeat all season and definitely earned this win today. "

Logan's 15-point, 14-rebound effort was her first double-double since the 2013-14 season and matched her season-high when she also recorded 15 points against Cornell.

Michelle Berry chipped in another double-digit performance with 15 points of her own along with freshman Jade Vega added 13 points of her own.

The Titans got off to a slow start, falling quickly behind to the Anteaters in the first quarter, giving up a 5-0 run to open the game.

After a free throw by Vega to tie the game up at 7 in the first quarter, UC Irvine answered back and ended the first leading the Titans 16-10.

The Titan offense erupted in the second quarter, going on a 13-point run led by Logan who recorded seven of the 13.

Fullerton outscored UC Irvine 21-9 in the second quarter to lead 31-25 at the end of the first half.

The Titans continued to dominate throughout the second half, holding onto their lead for the remainder of the game.

Fullerton hit their largest lead at 15 points late in the fourth quarter, and held on to get their first win since Nov. 17 in the 66-53 win.

The Titans return to Titan Gym to host Hawai'i on Thursday night at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
