The Titans kick off Big West play by hosting conference rival, Long Beach State at Titan Gym on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. as part of a double-header with the men's basketball team

SERIES NOTES

LONG BEACH ST: The conference rivals have met over 100 times with the Beach taking almost 70% of the games, most recently winning seven of the last ten match-ups.

BREAKING DOWN THE 49ERS
Head coach Jody Wynn is in her 7th season at the helm of the 49ers and led the program to their first 20-win season for the first time in 15 years. Wynn has a record of 7-7 against the Titans in her six year career and has totaled a career coaching record of 90-99. 

Long Beach State wrapped up it's preseason non-conference schedule with a record of 11-3, good for best in the Big West heading into conference play. The 49ers host Hawai'i on Thursday night before coming to Titan Gym. Long Beach State is led by junior guards Raven Benton and Jewelyn Sawyer who have averaged 12.1 and 10.9 points per game, respectively. 

KICKING IT UP A NOTCH
The Titans are 2-12 going into Big West play and recorded a 5-11 record last season against Big West opponents.

PACING BERRY
Freshman Michelle Berry is currently on pace to break a few single-season freshman records, including the overall points record of 445 (Berry 202) set by Nancy Ratliff in 1980-81 and free throws made set by Toni Thomas in 2005-06 of 94 (Berry 37).

QUADRUPLING THE DOUBLES
Michelle Berry recorded her second-straight and fourth overall double-double of the season with a 16 point, 10 rebound performance at North Dakota State. In the last five games, Berry has recorded 51 rebounds with four double-digit rebound performances.

CRAIG'S RETURN
Dani Craig returned to the starting lineup on Dec. 19 after missing three games due to an injury. Since then, the freshman has totaled 28 points and 10 rebounds in three games, including 11 points against North Dakota State on Dec. 28.

NUBLA'S BIG NIGHT
Freshman Lauren Nubla had record-breaking night as the freshman set new individual season and career records on Dec. 28th at North Dakota State. Nubla recorded season-highs in minutes played (27), field goals made (5) and points (11) to record the first double-digit game of her career.

DECEMBER WOES
The Titans were winless in December for the first time since the 2007-08 season when they were 0-6.

DEFENSE CALL
The Titan defense has recorded nine games where they've allowed 60 points or less while only one of the last five games hit over the 60 point mark.

SETTING RECORDS
Freshman Michelle Berry set a program record by scoring the most points by a freshman in history after posting 38 against Portland State. The performance earned her the first Big West Athlete of the Week honors, which also is the first time a Titan freshman has earned the accolades.

BIG WEST BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT ALL-SESSION TICKETS ON SALE
Honda Center and the Big West Conference have announced that all-session tickets for the 2016 Big West Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament will go on sale Friday, November 13.

All-session school reserved tickets will be available for $69.00. These seats will be located within a school's section and can be purchased through each institution's box office.

Premium all-session tickets located in the first four rows of seating will be available for $149.00.  General admission all-session tickets are also available for $69.00. These seats can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster retail outlets, or by calling 800-745-3000.

The 2015 Big West Tournament will be hosted for the sixth straight year at Honda Center in Anaheim.  The women's tournament first round and quarterfinal games will be played at UC Irvine on March 8-9. The men's tournament begins on March 10 at Honda Center with four quarterfinal games.  The semifinals and championship games for both the men and women will take place March 11 and 12 at the Honda Center.
