FULLERTON, Calif. – Michelle Berry erupted in the second half to record her third double-double of the season and junior Sami Logan poured in a season-high 15 points in the Titans 47-59 loss to Cornell at Titan Gym on Monday night.

Cal State Fullerton surrendered 43 points in the second half while four Cornell players scored double-digit points to stun the Titans, who now drop to 2-11 while the Big Red improve to 6-5.

The Titans got off to a hot start thanks to Dani Craig who led the Titans to a quick 6-0 lead with back-to-back three's to open up the game and take their first lead in three games.

Yet after surrendering six points to cut the Titan lead to only two, Logan and Berry answered back with their first three-pointers of the game to end the first quarter leading the Big Red 14-10.

Cornell kicked off the second quarter getting on the board first, yet Logan once again answered back at a perfect time for the Titans, recording her second three of the game.

With 1.4 seconds left in the second quarter, Amanda Tivenius sunk two free throws to push the Titans to a 23-16 lead at the half.

Craig and Logan led the Titans at the half with six points each while Berry collected four rebounds.

Cornell got off to a hot start in the third quarter, scoring four points in the first minute of play but once again, Logan came back for the Titans shooting her third three-pointer of the game to keep the Titans in a solid lead.

After a quiet second period, Craig put herself back in the game also draining her third three of the game to extend the Titan lead to seven. Yet the Titan defense got a little shaky as they surrendered a quick six points to give Cornell their first lead of the game.

The third quarter continued to be a back and forth battle as the two teams responded to one another until the Big Red took a four-point lead, the largest of the game thus far.

A big block from Karima Gabriel helped give some momentum back to the Titans yet it wasn't enough as they ended the third quarter trailing Cornell 37-33.

Cornell continued to capitalize on the third quarter and kept it going into the fourth as they quickly went on a 9-0 run in the first two minutes to extend their lead to 13.

Back-to-back three's from Michelle Berry cut the Titan deficit to only 10 while Logan once again came in clutch with back-to-back three's of her own to cut the deficit to eight.

Yet it wasn't enough as the Titans gave up their ten-point lead to drop their 11th straight game, falling to Cornell 47-59.

The Titans shot 30.8% from the field and out-rebounded Cornell 37-33.

The Titans return to action after the holiday as they head to North Dakota State to take on the Bison on Monday, Dec. 28 at 5 p.m. PST.
