FULLERTON, Calif. – Freshman Michelle Berry scored 23 points and senior Karima Gabriel recorded a double-double in the Titans' 60-58 exhibition victory over Cal State Los Angeles on Thursday night at Titan Gym.
Gabriel recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds while junior Samantha Logan led the Titans defensively logging 14 rebounds.
Cal State L.A. came out strong in the first period, outscoring the Titans 19-10, led by Kiah Knox and Franeka Hall who had six and five points respectively, in the first 10 minutes.
In the second period the Titans produced 15 points coming from six different Titans to put Fullerton within five at the end of the first half.
The Titans came out strong in the second half with their best period being the 3rd when they scored 20 points, Berry accumulating 11 of them.
Early in the 4th period, the Titans recaptured the lead and never looked back. The starting five for the Titans sealed the deal by posting 15 points in the final 10 minutes to beat the Golden Eagles, 60-58.
The Titans shot a 32.8 field goal percentage, shot 19% from behind the arc and posted a 53.3 shot percentage from the line.
Eight different Titans saw action in the team's first exhibition tonight, five of them stepping onto the court for the first time in a Titan uniform.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action for one more exhibition before kicking off the 2015-16 next Friday night, hosting Hope International as part of a double header with the men's team. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. at Titan Gym.

BasketBowl Event
The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team invites family, friends, supporters and fans to its second annual BasketBowl event at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015. The Titans are asking you to join them in a fun filled afternoon that includes unlimited bowling, billiards, food and drinks in support of the 2015-2016 women's basketball team. The afternoon will also include a silent auction as well as a chance to meet and greet with this year's squad and coaching staff.
The event will take place at the Titan Bowl and Billiards in the Titan Student Union located on campus and the cost per person is $45.
