VERMILLION, S.D. – The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team lost to South Dakota on Saturday afternoon, 86-50, at Dakota Dome behind 15 points from the Coyotes' Nicole Seekamp.

South Dakota (6-2) was balanced in its attack on Saturday, as Margaret McCloud contributed 13 points, Raeshel Contreras and Kelly Stewart each added 12 points, and Tia Hemiller scored 11.  South Dakota shot the ball well all afternoon, ending the game shooting 53 percent (32-of-61) from the field and 44 percent (11-of-25) from behind the three-point arc.

The game featured little drama as the Coyotes opened the game on a 21-2 run, and never let the Titans back into the game the rest of the way.  Fullerton (3-5) could not muster the second-half, three-point shooting magic they have been finding all season long, as they shot 25 percent (7-of-28) from three-point range in the game and 32 percent (18-of-56) from the field.

"Obviously I'm tremendously disappointed in our effort today," head coach Daron Park said. "South Dakota is a really good team who plays extremely well at home, we just didn't match their toughness plain and simple.  We need to learn from this and move forward because we go back on the road next week to play a very good Fresno State team."

Fullerton was undone on Saturday by a stingy Coyote defense and costly turnovers.  South Dakota capitalized on 21 CSF giveaway's, turning them into 22 points as the Titans could only score nine points on eight USD turnovers.

Despite the loss, Chante Miles poured in 16 points to keep her scoring streak intact. Miles has now scored in double figures in six-straight games, and seven-of-eight on the season. For the third time this season she played the full 40 minutes, adding four assists and two steals to her team-high point total.

Junior Hailey King was a bright spot for the Titans Saturday, scoring a season-high 13 points off the bench, shooting 4-of-6 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range.  Against the Coyotes, King also earned a season-high in minutes played (23), and shot attempts (6).

"Hailey is a tough kid who has provided us with some solid minutes defensively the last few weeks," Park said. "It was so good to see her be confident offensively today."

The Titans will finish their season-high six game road trip with a contest at Fresno State on Saturday at Save Mart Center at 2:00 p.m.
