FULLERTON, Calif.—Cal State Fullerton junior Mya Olivier nailed what proved to be the game-winning three-pointer with 18 seconds left in regulation to lift the Titans to a thrilling, 60-55, come-from-behind win over visiting San Francisco at Titan Gym on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore guard Chante Miles put in a career-high 19 points on 4-of-9 shooting, while senior center Lauren Bushong totaled a game-high tying eight boards in the win.

Sophomore guard Aundrea Gordon paced San Francisco with a team-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while also grabbing eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Taj Winston chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Dons.

Cal State Fullerton (2-1) gained control early as the Titan backcourt combined to score the first five points of the game to give Fullerton a 5-0 lead four minutes into the contest.

San Francisco (2-1) then responded with a 9-0 run of its own, jump-started by a Taj Winston three-pointer, followed by three straight free throw conversions and a Mel Khlok triple.

The Dons would take control for most of the first half, at one point building a game-high 27-15 lead with 3:06 to play in the opening half, thanks in part to Winston's eight first-half points.

However, Cal State Fullerton locked down defensively for the final three minutes of the first half, trailing 27-24 at the break after Tailer Butler capped off a crucial 8-0 run with an acrobatic and-one lay-up with just seconds remaining on the clock.

Fullerton immediately went to work in the second half and grinded away a three-point deficit to eventually take a 32-31 lead with 16:11 to play in the game after Miles drove the lane for an uncontested lay-up.

The Titans eventually worked their second half lead to as large as six points after Olivier hit the first of her two treys on the day with 9:42 left to go.

San Francisco would charge back once again, and had the game all but won after Winston stole the ball from Fullerton's Alex Thomas in the open court, leading to a Gordon triple that put the Dons up 55-49 with 1:55 left to play.

But, Fullerton proved to have one more run left in it, as Miles put the team on her back, and scored six straight points to tie the game at 55-55 with under a minute left.

The Titans eventually would hang on to hand the Dons their first loss of the season after forcing a season-high tying 22 turnovers, with two of them coming inside of the last minute of play.

Cal State Fullerton will have a quick turnaround, as the Titans now head to Los Angeles to take on the Loyola Marymount Lions on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Game Notes: Cal State Fullerton has now won three straight games vs. San Francisco…Only once in the last eight meetings has the game been decided by double-digit points…First time the Titans have had back-to-back wins since Feb. 22 and 25, 2012 vs. UCR and UCI.
