FULLERTON, Calif.- Cal State Fullerton came through in a big way Sunday afternoon, defeating Sacramento State 94-75 behind a career-high 18 points from Chante Miles in the Titans' home opener.

Miles and Alex Thomas (17 pts) both scored career highs and combined to score 35 points to lead five Fullerton players in double figures for the game.
Sadie Clements and Taylor Peacocke led the way for Sacramento State (0-2), each going for 15 points. Megan Kritscher also chipped in with 11 points and five blocked shots for the Hornets.
Fullerton (1-1) got things going early, converting on four of its first five shots from the field to give the Titans a quick 9-4 lead less than three minutes into the contest. Both teams went back-and-forth; with the Titans holding their slim lead until Sacramento State's Alle Morano nailed a three-pointer from the top of the circle to give the Hornets a 24-22 advantage with 8:20 left to play in the first half.

The Titans only trailed once more, as seven points by Chante Miles helped propel a 19-9 run to end the first half.

Fullerton came out of the break leading 43-31 and held serve until the Hornets went on a quick 5-0 run thanks to a Se'nyce Parrish three-ball and two Fantasia Hilliard free throws to cut the Titans' lead to 51-44 with 15:58 left in the contest.
However, that would be as close as the Hornets would get, as Cal State Fullerton's offense exploded for 15 points over the next five-plus minutes, at one point knocking down four consecutive field goals to take a commanding 69-54 lead with 10:28 left in the game.

The Titan lead ballooned to as big as 22 points with about a minute left to play, before eventually taking home the victory.
Cal State Fullerton will look to start its first winning streak of the year when it takes on the University of San Francisco next Saturday at 2 p.m. in Titan Gym.
Game Notes: The 94 points scored Sunday are the most points the Titans have scored since putting up 100 on December 9, 2010 in a 100-74 win over Sacramento State. It was also the last time these two teams played at Titan Gym. The Titans have won four consecutive contests vs. the Hornets, and have scored at least 80 points in each of those wins. Lauren Bushong's two blocked shots Friday vs. Nevada gives her 51 for her career, passing Charlee Underwood (50, 2003-07) for eighth on the school's all-time blocks list. Kisa Hughes ranks seventh on the list with 57 career blocks.
