Fullerton, Calif. - Nationally ranked UC Davis rolls into Titan Stadium for Wednesday night's Big West Conference men's soccer match with an 8-game unbeaten streak and national top 20 status.
The Aggies carry a 9-1-1 overall record including a 1-0-1 mark in the Big West, where they have taken the early lead in the standings. Fullerton is 3-8-0 and 0-1 and looking for its first home win of the year after three losses.
Davis is ranked No. 13 by College Soccer News, No. 14 by the NSCAA, and No. 17 by College Soccer News and Soccer Times.
The Aggies opened Big West play by tying UC Irvine, 1-1, and beating Cal Poly, 2-0. The Mustangs own a 3-0 win over Fullerton (on Oct. 1) and play a quick rematch Saturday night in Titan Stadium. Fullerton was 1-0-1 vs. Davis last season.
The Aggies feature the nation's leader in assists (10) in Dylan Curtis, who is only one shy of the school single-season record. Quincy Amarikwa is second in the nation with nine goals, the same total the entire Titans' team has logged.
The Titans have been shutout in four of their last five matches and are winless at home at 0-3. Forward Celso Alvarez leads the team with 4 goals.
