Ohio State Beats Titans in Overtime

University Park, PA - The Ohio State men's soccer team defeated Cal State Fullerton by a score of 1-0 at Penn State's Jeffrey Field on Friday night to open Penn State Nike Classic action.

Ohio State is now 4-1 on the season with its only loss to No. 2-ranked New Mexico. The Titans are 0-3-1 and have scored in only one match so far.

After a scoreless first and second half, the teams went into a sudden victory overtime. The teams were evenly matched throughout the game, but the win went to the Buckeyes after 9:06 minutes of action in the first overtime when Ohio State's Reid Treager scored on an assist from Xavier Balc.

Bobby Armstrong went all the way in goal for the Titans.

The Titans and the Buckeyes will continue on in the Penn State Nike Soccer Classic action on Sunday, Sept. 18. The Buckeyes will face-off against the UCLA Bruins at noon ET. The Titans will play the Penn State Nittany Lions at 2 p.m. ET. Both games will be held at Jeffrey Field.
