CSF: Joshua Meyer was the last Titan to sign
for the 2007 season and had to redshirt due to the 4/2/4 transfer
NCAA eligibility rules... He should make an impact in 2008 with his
physical presence on the front line.
CERRITOS COLLEGE: Led the Falcons to the
California State Championship in 2006, the first for the school,
which was ranked No. 2 in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America (NSCAA), as well as being rated No. 1 in the
state.... Team's final overall record was 20-3-5... Joshua was
selected a Far-West All-American and earned first-team
all-conference honors after scoring 13 goals and assisting on nine
others... One of his goals was the game-winner in the state
semifinals.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Cerritos High
School in 2003... Played only one season at forward for the
Dons.
PERSONAL: Born on Nov. 14, 1985, in Bellflower,
California... Parents are Marcel and Cynthia Meyer of Cerritos...
Has an older brother (Marcel Johan)... Political science major...
Enjoys freehand drawing... Was a member of the national under-20
state team that won the national championship... He also was part
of the ODP state team... Played club ball for the Whittier
Quakes... Credits Cerritos College Coach Benny Artiaga for the most
influence on his soccer career: "he showed me by example what it
means to be a leader and take control, influence and build
something great... And special thanks to my father, who introduced
me to the game and taught me the essentials of soccer."
