CSF: Ben Hofstetter wraps up a solid Titan
career in 2007... He has been a key performer in each of his three
seasons in the program, appearing in 51 matches (30 starts)... Had
one goal last season, a game winner at UNLV on Sept. 24, breaking a
2-2 tie in the 70th minute... He came on strong late in his 2004
freshman season, appearing in 16 matches (7 starts) and tying for
third on the team with 9 points... Scored 4 goals -- on Oct. 16 at
UC Irvine, vs. Chapman on Oct. 25 and a pair vs. UC Irvine on Nov.
9... had one assist (on game-winning goal at UC Riverside on Nov.
3).
HIGH SCHOOL: One of the top players in the
state of Idaho in 2003... Three-time Offensive Player of the Year
at Timberline High School, most recently for Coach Jim
Sandercock... Southern Idaho Conference player of the year in
2003-04... Also competed in track and field as a senior, running on
the 4x400 relay team... Played freshman basketball... Three-time
winner of Outstanding Scholar award and berths on the SIC
all-academic team.... National honor society member.
PERSONAL: Born on Nov. 21, 1985, in Boise,
Idaho... Parents are Conrad and Lindy Hofstetter... Has a younger
sister, Annamarie, 17... Business management major... Enjoys snow
and water skiing and hunting... Most memorable sports thrill was
scoring the winning goal in the 2004 Region IV Tournament to
advance Idaho to the semifinals... Credits his sophomore year Coach
Brian Smith for making him play forward... Played internationally,
gaining the semifinals of the Harlem Cup in Holland and the
quarterfinals of the Newcastle Festival in England... Played for
the Boise National Soccer Club.
