CSF: Gabriel Farfan lived up to the hype in
2006 as one of the most highly credentialed recruits ever to become
a part of the Titan soccer program... Earned second-team All-Big
West honors after playing in 16 matches, 15 as a starter... Had a
goal (Oct. 7 vs. UC Riverside) and 2 assists (Oct. 7 vs. UCR and
Sept. 27 vs. UCI).... Was second on team with 43 shots... Will move
up to a forward's spot in 2007.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Edison Academic Center in
Bradenton, Florida, while training with the U.S. team... Parade
magazine high school All-American... Won All-CIF honors at Castle
Park High School in Chula Vista as an underclassman.
PERSONAL: Born on June 23, 1988, in San
Diego... Parents are Luis and Kathy Farfan of Wildomar,
California... Has an older sister, Kathy (21), and a younger
brother, Louie (13), as well as twin brother Michael, with whom he
enrolled at CSF in Spring, 2006, after a two-year residency with
the United States Under-17 team... Played in the 2000 World Youth
Championships in Japan... Was a member of 2004 Olympic Development
Program national champions... ODP state finalist in 2005... Played
club soccer for the La Jolla Nomads.... Goal is to play
professional soccer... Loves dancing... Most memorable sports
thrill was being selected for the United States' Youth World Cup
team... Credits his father for the most influence on his soccer
career: "Because he knows everything about the game of soccer"...
Chose Fullerton because of its proximity to Chula Vista and the
beach.
