FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer fell to CSUN, 1-0 Saturday night at Titan Stadium.
With the loss the Titans miss the Big West Tournament and finish the seasons 8-6-4 and 3-3-3 in The Big West. Fullerton ended the season tied with Sacramento State with 12 points but don't make the conference tournament due to the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Hornets.
The two teams went back-and-forth for the first 45 minutes of action as they went into the locker rooms scoreless. The Titans led the Matadors in shots, 11-7 while also earning more corner kicks, 3-2. Each team had three shots on goal in the first half.
CSUN scored in the 73rd minute of play on a goal by Jack Rhead assisted by David Diaz to go up 1-0. The Titans put the pressure on the rest of the game looking for the equalizer but were unable to find it.
