FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer defeated UC San Diego Wednesday night at Titan Stadium by a final score of 1-0.
With the win the Titans improve to 8-4-3 and 3-1-1 in The Big West, sitting in a tie for second place with UC Davis and UC Riverside. Fullerton remains undefeated at Titan Stadium with the win, sporting an impressive 6-0-1 record.
Justin Jovel scored the game-winning goal in the 58th minute on a hard hit strike from about 25-yards out for his third goal of the season and third in the last three games.

Sebastian Cruz assisted on the goal for his fifth of the season which ranks third on the team and fourth in the conference. Cruz leads the team and The Big West with 21 points on eight goals and five assists.
Tetsuya Kadono had a great game in goal for the Titans, recording seven saves for his fourth shutout of the season. Kadono made a fantastic diving save in the 71st minute to keep the Titans lead at 1-0.

While the Titans were outshot by UC San Diego, 14 to nine, the defense did a solid job of keeping the Tritons chances to outside the 18-yard box.

Fullerton is back on the pitch Saturday afternoon as they head north to take on UC Davis. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
