Men's Soccer Falls Short on Senior Night

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer lost to UC Irvine by a final score of 1-0 Saturday night at Titan Stadium. 

UC Irvine took the lead in the 62nd minute on a goal by Ryan Khedoo. Fullerton had its chances to score throughout the match, recording 10 shots while UC Irvine recorded 10. The Titans had a chance to tie the match in the 79th on a penalty kick but were unable to score. 

Prior to the game Fullerton honored six seniors; Andrea Bonavia, Zach Gowlett, Clayton Torr, Mario Gomez, Irving Arvizu and Alex Juarez. All six were part of the Titans 2019 team that had the best start in program history, beginning the season 8-0. 

Arvizu, Gomez and Juarez, who have been at Cal State Fullerton since 2017, helped lead the team to three Big West Tournament appearances, a Big West Tournament Championship and a NCAA Tournament Appearance in 2017.
