Men's Soccer Drops Road Match to Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton fell to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Wednesday night by a final score of 3-1 at Alex G. Spanos Stadium. The Titans are now 8-5-1 overall with a 0-3 record in Big West Conference play. 

Fullerton got off to a slow start, giving up goals in the 21st and 23rd minute to fall into an early 2-0 hole with one of them being an own goal. Sebastian Cruz answered for the Titans in the 35th minute with a beautiful strike from just outside the 18-yard box for his second goal of the season.

The Titans went into the locker room with all of the momentum but hurt themselves again in the second half with another own goal to extend Cal Poly's lead. Paul-Andre Guerin recorded eight saves on the night to help keep Fullerton in the game throughout. 

Fullerton looks to bounce back Saturday as they travel further north to take on Sacramento State. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. PT.
