FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer started the 2019 season off on the right foot, beating Hartford 2-0 Friday night at Titan Stadium.
The Titans got on the board first on a beautiful goal from Christian Pinzon in the 34th minute. Pinzon controlled the ball on the left side of the field after a perfect pass from midfielder Alex Juarez. Pinzon dribbled around the defender and made a spectacular finish to give the Titans a 1-0 lead.

Fullerton didn't add to its lead until midway through the second half, however they dominated the game throughout. After consistently knocking on the door, Oscar Flores buried a goal in the 64th minute to put the Titans up 2-0. Freshman midfielder Sebastian Cruz made a great play to open up Flores while recording his first collegiate point with an assist.

The backline of Jose Delgado, Clayton Torr, Edward Salazar and Sam Molz played great for the Titans all night, giving up just eight shots with only two of them on goal. The stiff defense helped Paul-Andre Guerin record his 16th career shutout, leaving him tied for third most in the history of the program.
The Titans return to action Sunday night as they host Bryant University at Titan Stadium with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. PT.
